position will work in a lead technical role for a space program in
Los Angeles, CA for the Tactical Space Systems Division.This
Systems Engineering role is responsible for leading the Systems
Engineering technical team, which includes the following duties:
systems analysis and trades, coordinating Vehicle Systems
engineering activities, engineering baseline management, interface
management, requirements/V&V management, subcontractor
technical oversight, CAM/EVMS duties, preparing/presenting SE
material at all major reviews and PMRs and interfacing with the
customer and SETAs on all space segment technical issues.The
successful candidate will lead or perform system trades, modeling,
simulation and analysis to assess space mission architecture
alternatives for delivering a Customer mission effect, data or
capability as it fits within a broader campaign. This includes
performing analysis-of-alternatives and synthesizes mission
elements to lead to a cohesive space mission solution. Space
mission architecture trades may include orbits, launch vehicles,
space vehicles, payloads, ground segment, mission planning,
Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Design Reference Missions (DRM),
system security and external interfaces. Leads space mission system
element design, capability assessment, mission threads, interfaces,
verification/validation planning, and mission integration functions
during system development. Leads demonstration and delivery of
mission effects during operations, and provides long term
sustainment and mission augmentation support over the life of the
mission.The responsibilities include both individual-contributor
and leadership roles, within a multi-disciplined engineering team.
Successful candidate will also be called upon to support other
activities, including architecture studies, mission support, and
traditional Systems Engineering functions. In this lead role, the
Lead Systems Engineer is expected to be self-directed using
previous experience to lead design, analysis and execution efforts.
Candidates must be able to recognize and mitigate technical issues
and risks while operating within budget and on
schedule.Responsibilities:--- Lead the entire program technical
team.--- Lead and optimize mission, payload & space vehicle design,
processing and mission success.--- Troubleshoot and develop
solutions to complex problems that the program may encounter.---
Develop, author and/or provide input to major program data products
and other deliverables.--- Technical management of program
elements--- Planning and conduct of technical reviews and technical
baseline--- Writing status and technical performance reviews and
reports--- Mentor, coach, train, guide, direct and advise junior
staffThe candidate will work with cross-discipline team members and
must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the
ability to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers
to achieve the goals of the program team.Basic Qualifications:---
Must have U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret
level clearance, SCI eligible.--- BS degree in Engineering, Science
or related technical field and at least 9 years of applicable
experience, an MS Degree and 7 years of applicable experience, or a
PhD Degree and 4 years of applicable experience.--- Systems
engineering experiencePreferred Experience (one or more areas
desired):--- Experience with a space development program---
Experience presenting to customers--- Experience working with a
cross-discipline team SpaceSalary Range: $129,700 USD - $194,500
USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
