SSSD Space Vehicle Systems Engineering has an opening for a
qualified, mission oriented Systems Engineer to join our team of
qualified diverse individuals. This position will be responsible
for the space vehicle and interface requirements architecture,
development, and verification.This role offers an opportunity to
showcase expertise in breadth and depth of technical knowledge, and
leadership skills, as well as provides the opportunity to be a
systems engineer.This position will be located in Redondo Beach,
California and with responsibilities including (but not limited to)
the following systems engineering tasks for Space Vehicle
programs:--- Work will cover range of SE disciplines and products
including requirements & verification, interfaces, architecture,
and design.
--- Able to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with Mission
Engineering (SE&I), Specialty Engineering, Payloads, and
Subsystems
--- Role entails collaboration with SVSE, subsystems, and
unit-level engineers and engagement in multiple working groups and
control boards.
--- Support/lead development of specifications, interfaces, test
requirements, and other key SE products.
--- Support/lead preparation and execution of SVSE milestone
reviews (PDA/CDA)
--- Specifics of responsibilities can be tailored based on grade
level and relevant experience of selected candidate.Performs
technical planning, system integration, verification and
validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness
analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of
total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication,
test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures
the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product
requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge
technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional
analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements
allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer
requirements into hardware and software specifications.This
position requires strong leadership, communication and presentation
skills; ability to interface with project management, responsible
design engineers, subproject managers, functional management, and
customers; and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
Available positions require that the candidate have a strong
understanding of one or more of the skills described. Project roles
span all phases from new business acquisition, and IRAD/technology

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience
OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or
Mathematics) discipline and 3+ years of engineering experience OR
PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
discipline
- Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of
the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
- Dept. of Defense Top Secret level with a background
investigation date within 6 years OR
- Dept. of Energy Q clearance with a background investigation
date within 6 years Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- Experience working on aircraft or spacecraft systems
- Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing
requirements
- Experience in system architecture, CONOPs, or model based
system engineering
- Experience in subsystem, payload, or system integration
- Experience using DOORS, Cameo
- Strong people skills
- Excellent communication skills (upward and downward) " Salary
Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
