The Assistant Recreation Coordinator under the direction of the
Recreation Coordinator and works directly with other Recreation
staff members to provide assistance in the administration of
programs and activities. This position assists with cashiering and
associated activities at Seaside Lagoon.
This position is at-will and is seasonal and/or part-time. This
position is not eligible for City benefits.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
The following duties for this part-time position will include
participating in performing cashier and associated functions at
Seaside Lagoon, participate in staff trainings and meetings,
keeping accurate records, and providing positive customer service
for users of the facility. Deal courteously and effectively with
the general public, establish and maintain cooperative working
relationships with those contacted in the course of performing
assigned duties and responsibilities.
Under direction of the Recreation Supervisor or other Recreation
staff, perform administrative support duties including routine
calculating, posting, and verifying duties to maintain cash
transaction records; receive cash and dispense change. Recommends
and coordinates the purchase of program supplies and equipment.
Effective leadership skills with children and staff; good decision
making; exercise appropriate judgment. Must be at least 18 years of
age to apply. Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
Completion of high school. Preferably some college work in Child
Development, Recreation or a related field and work experience with
children. Previous experience with Recreation and/or children's
programs is highly desirable.
