This position will be located in Redondo Beach CA.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Material, Process and Services team.Essential Functions:Maintain laboratory recognition/accreditationConduct technical audits of the calibration laboratory (including suppliers) to verify traceability of standards and compliance with published standards and guidelinesDevelop and lead technical audits of the calibration laboratory (including suppliers) to verify traceability of standards and compliance with published standards and guidelinesPerform technical assessments for personnel performance reviewsDevelop, document, and maintain procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirementsDevelop calibration systems and procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirementsInspect and evaluate new calibration standards for proper operation before releasing to calibration laboratoryRecommend standards for use in calibration applications, including Test Equipment JustificationDesign and document measurement reference material for laboratory useResearch and develop calibration standards & systemsProvide technical input to quotesPerform Equipment Performance Report evaluationsPerform interval analysisDesign, develop and validate calibration and measurement softwarePerform calibrations as requiredAssist projects in trouble shooting and root cause analysis of measurement issues or measurement system problems and advise project engineers in measurement techniques & equipment operationPerform state-of-the-art or special measurementsDevelop, implement and maintain the calibration laboratory's quality systems per published standards and guidelinesEvaluate and recommend M&TE for use in measurement applicationsEvaluate supplier's products and provide feedback; work with suppliers to resolve product issues and make improvement recommendationsTrain technicians and engineers in calibration methodologies and measurement principlesPerform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes#LI-CO1QualificationsBasic Qualifications: Bachelors of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 5 years of engineering experience OR Masters of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 3 years of engineering experience.Experience with one or more of the following: RF generators, synthesizers, frequency standards, calibration kits, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers or familiarity in the RF microwave measurement principles.Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access.Preferred QualificationsBachelors of Science in either Electrical Engineering OR Physics.Experience with RF generators, synthesizers, frequency standards, calibration kits, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.Knowledge of RF Microwave, RF Equipment or Lab/Test Areas.Active SCI ClearanceNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
