This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.Manager of Mechanical Materials and Processes Laboratories (MMPL). Responsible for daily operations of labs that perform material receiving inspection and shelf life extension for all space programs, as well as material development and allowables testing for air and space programs. The successful candidate will perform scheduling, prioritizing of work load, technician and engineer tasking and technical oversight of the work product. An understanding of materials and mechanical engineering is desired, including composites fabrication and testing, bonding principles, quality assurance testing of materials and principles of mechanical testing. Experience in these areas is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will be committed to employee development and engagement, and have the ability to develop and maintain strong teams and the ability to work with and manage a team of diverse technical, educational and experience backgrounds. The manager of the MMPL is responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels for current and future work, and deploying technical performers appropriately. The manager must be entrepreneurial, and able to communicate the capabilities of the MMPL to customers, both internal and external.
