The twelve-lawyer firm, located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, represents plaintiffs / applicants in employment, workers' compensation, and personal injury matters in state and federal courts. We have a beautiful and quiet office set back in downtown Los Angeles. We are looking for someone who can manage their own workload without a ton of supervision. Associate Attorney Primary Responsibilities:Initial pre-filing case work-up under the direction of the supervising attorneyClient meetingsDrafting petitionsTaking and defending depositionsConducting case related investigationLaw and motion workAppearances before the WCABSettlement discussionsTrial preparation work and trial Associate Attorney Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:Juris Doctorate from a top rated school with strong undergraduate academic record.Must California Bar License1-3 years of litigation experience in workers' compSpanish speaking a plus! Excellent negotiation skillsExperience defending workers' compensation depositions for the plaintiff (not defense)Experience appearing at workers' compensation appeals board hearings (MSC, Priority Conference, Trials) is a plus!
