The Advanced Mission Programs (AMP) has an immediate need for a
Sub-Project Manager (SPM) in their ground systems software area for
a large, restricted program. The SPM will manage a team of 5 to 7
SW engineers overseeing several software subsystems and a
subcontract. The technical manager must possess excellent
leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills,
and work closely with the Software Development Manager as well as
the Software Assistant Program Manager (APM) and Deputy APM. The
candidate will be responsible for directing all aspects of the
Sub-Project's software tasking from design through requirement
verification, including Cost Account Manager (CAM)
responsibilities. This position requires coordination and
interfacing with the other SW Sub-Projects, Systems Engineering,
external customers, and site personnel. Subcontract management will
require the candidate to direct cost, schedule, contracts, and
general business oversight of the subcontractor. Candidate will
work in a dynamic team environment, ensuring personnel follow
well-defined processes. The candidate must have the ability to
complete tasks with minimal direction and oversight, and mentor
junior engineers.Basic Qualifications:
- Current SCI access or currentDoD Top Secretclearance with the
ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering,
Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years of relevant work
experience;Master's Degree in STEM with 7 years of relevantwork
experience; PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant work experience;
an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience leading a team of software engineers in software
development deliverables and processes
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills
with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and
managementPreferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with internal and external customers
- Previoussoftware experience in a C++/Red Hat Enterprise Linux
environment
- Experience with AMP software design and code
- 5+ years ofprevious management experience as a Deputy SPM
orTechnical Lead is a plus
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
- Cost Account Management experience
- Subcontract management experience
- Understanding of DevOps ideas and principals
- Agile SW development methodology Salary Range: $143,500 USD -
$215,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
