Sterile Processing Tech Location: Santa Barbara, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,265 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Valid State License required at the time of submission Certifications: BLS CBSPD CBSPD C.A.S.S.P.T CBSPD C.F.E.R CBSPD CSIS IAHCSMM/HSPA SPT Cert Must-Have: Competently performs standardized instrument processing and decontamination to prevent the spread of infection, illness, or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment to support the functionality of the department by disinfecting and distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. Integrates education and technical competence to execute safe and precise sterilization procedures. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. Description: Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in aseptic techniques and high-level disinfection. Utilizes automated endoscope reprocessors and biological indicators as needed. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps is essential. Experience with surgical instruments including cystoscopes and endoscopes is required. Knowledge of steam sterilization testing and monitoring procedures is necessary. Must be able to organize trays and properly label instruments. Experience with scope and probe reprocessing along with the use of washers and sterilizers is preferred. Ability to perform manual cleaning and assembly of instrument sets and trays is mandatory. Knowledge of loaner consignment trays and proper selection of wrapping materials is ideal. Willingness to perform sterilization wrapping procedures and maintain sterile processing microsystems is crucial. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of the sterilization processes and associated documentation. Skills related to acute hospital operating rooms and ambulatory surgery centers are beneficial. Successful candidates will adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
