Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is an industry-leading

Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an
opening for a **Director 1 - Program Management** to join our team
of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in
**Redondo Beach, CA,** and will support execution, growth and
strategy activities within the OPIR & Geospatial Systems (OGS)
business unit (BU) reporting to the Vice President of the BU.
As the Director, you will be responsible for leading program
activities to create, position for, and capture new business with
our NASA & DOD civil customers.
In this role you will:
+ Perform market/mission area assessments and develop the mission
area growth strategy
+ Coordinate with NCTA planning and execution and the capture and
execution of technology R&D contracts to ensure they align with
the growth strategies.
+ Identify and target business opportunities and partnerships to
create value growth and work closely with other BUs, divisions, and
sectors in Northrop to develop integrated communications strategies
and to capture company priority programs.
+ Stand-up and direct focused opportunity capture campaigns for new
programs, products and technologies and proactively engage and
develop working relationships with a wide range of customers and
industry communities to build and maintain trusted
relationships.
+ Provide oversight of proposal developments and lead sign-off
reviews up through the NG organizations.
+ Collaborate across numerous business units and divisions across
NG, e.g. TSSD for spacecraft bus, PGSD for payload and ground
solutions, SSSD for various offerings
+ Drive improved employee engagement and appreciation through
verbal, written, and tangible recognition, events, and personal
interactions
+ Oversee program/project reviews, independent technical reviews,
program stand-up reviews, test readiness reviews, process
improvement plans, proposal review and signoff, and capital
planning and management
+ Champion consistency across the discipline ensuring reuse, common
tools and training/skill development through all levels of the
organization
+ **Competitive Capture** : Assess and influence competitive
strategies of sector and division priority win captures.
+ **Strategic Gap Analysis** : Lead strategic gap analysis with BUs
and functions to identify technology, capability, or process gaps,
prioritize them, and align resources to meet them.
+ **Strategic Studies** : Lead strategic arena, technology,
competitor, or capability studies and provide strategic actions
recommendations.
+ **Cross-Division Business Insight** : Develop and maintain
cross-sector relationships and business insight with other
divisions. Participate in all applicable Business Strategy Team
reviews.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of
experience in competitive Government-industry space acquisition and
execution
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate/coordinate/collaborate up,
down and across all levels of a large organization
+ Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined teams
(engineering, business, contracts, legal, supply chain, production,
and mission/quality assurance) to execute business growth
strategies and capture activities
+ Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with
customers, industry partners/suppliers, and internal
stakeholders
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Masters in STEM discipline or MBA from an accredited
university
+ Understanding of government acquisition and budgeting
processes
+ Five (5) years of direct experience leading people, projects or
programs to successful goal attainment.
+ Demonstrated ability to plan and lead/oversee capture campaigns,
proposals and R&D projects/contracts
+ Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of
being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracts,
retains and inspires diverse and engaged teams
+ Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally,
written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels
of an organization
+ Experience planning/executing growth strategies, competitive
capture campaigns and proposal activities, with proven
collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external
stakeholder organizations
+ Experience in system concept development (technical, schedule,
cost)
+ Effective at formulating NCTA and capital budget requests/plans
and executing plans to meet technical/budget/schedule
objectives
+ Able to make timely tough decisions based on information
available and sound logic
+ Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
including abilities to engage people to establish and maintain
highly effective internal and external relationships; to
effectively discuss, present and articulate issues, strategies and
solutions internally across all levels of the organization and
externally to senior customers; and to proactively and
enthusiastically lead teams to capture new business
+ Leadership experience in effective change management
+ Conflict management and negotiation skills
+ Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity management
+ Ability to obtain security clearances, if required
Salary Range: $204,100.00 - $306,100.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays
and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
