Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is an industry-leading

SSSD has an opening for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Fault
Management Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
Autonomy and Fault Management (AFM) lead for the Next Generation
Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) - Polar (NGP) program within
the Prime Space Vehicle Systems Engineering (SVSE) Space Vehicle
Operations (SVO) team.
Leverage the Eagle-3 product line Bus heritage Fault Management
(FM) design and apply it to the mission needs and accommodation
challenges of the NGP program SV.
This requires not only adapting the FM approach to support both the
Communications Payload (CPL) and the Mission Payload (MPL), it
requires balancing the re-use needs driven by Eagle-3 heritage and
the United States Government (USG) goals of driving a common MPL
design, leveraged from the Next Gen OPIR - Geosynchronous (NGG)
program.
Additionally, the mission needs for NGP include enhanced support
for longer duration autonomous operations, an area of mission not
previously supported in Class A but which is a critical
discriminator for acquisition of new programs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree in STEM(Science, Technology,
Engineering, Math) discipline and 9 years of experience OR Masters
in STEM and 7 years of experience OR Ph.D. in STEM and 4 years of
experience
Active, in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within
the last 5 years.
Experience with Fault Management
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in STEM discipline
DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

Salary Range: $125,800.00 - $188,600.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
