+ Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer /
Senior Principal Engineer through the Skillbridge program. This
position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA and will support the
Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD).

more than 1,600 are reservists. The Northrop Grumman Military
Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program
under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The NG-MIP program is
an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable
civilian work experience through an individual internship during
their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop
Grumman Military internship Program is open to all ranks and
experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for
compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive
military compensation and benefits as active-duty service
members.
**Responsibilities for this internship position are** :
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop
Grumman Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the
DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service
member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an
individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role.
The service member will be on the job training supporting a work
schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the
Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
**Goals** Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style
job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military
commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer
internships that result in the potential to transition to a
full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns
will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military
candidates into NGC.
**Objectives** - Service Members who complete the Intern program
will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the
specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG
mission Defining Possible on Day 1. This program provides a
comprehensive internship experience including professional
development, networking with leadership, and training specifically
focused on NG leadership principles, company history,
customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and
core job responsibilities.

**_What youll get to do:_**
In this role you will lead the management and execution of
facilities projects that support sustaining infrastructure and new
program facilitation requirements to include, but are not limited
to the following:
+ Oversee the reconfiguration, alteration, maintenance,
modernization, or construction of buildings and/or structures.
+ Obtain requirements related to: infrastructure, sustainability
efforts, cleanrooms, manufacturing floors, or construction
feasibility assessments. While adhering to company and/or
government specifications.
+ Coordinate with architectural/engineering firms to design
criteria and prepare both layout and detail drawings.
+ Develop Scopes of Work for the procurement of design and
construction services.
+ Review and estimate costs of equipment, installation, labor,
materials, construction, and other related costs.
+ Actively manage and execute multiple facilities projects
simultaneously.
+ Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure
conformance to established drawings, specifications, and
schedules.
+ Forecast and report on project status, including key project
metrics for Safety, Cost, and Schedule.
+ Produce and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans
as required.
**DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:**
+ Has served at least 180 days on active duty
+ Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
+ Will receive an honorable discharge
+ Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
+ Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last
12 months
+ Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain
of command/Army: first O5 in COC or O4 on AOC Orders) written
authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge
Program prior to start of internship.
**_Youll bring these qualifications:_**
+ **_Principal Engineer_** : Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of project management,
construction management, or related facilities experience OR 3
years of project management, construction management, or related
facilities experience with Master's Degree in STEM. 4 years of
additional experience in lieu of education.
+ **_Sr. Principal Engineer_** : Bachelor's Degree in STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 9 years of project
management, construction management, or related facilities
experience OR 7 years of project management, construction
management, or related facilities experience with Master's Degree
in STEM. 7 years of additional experience in lieu of education.
+ Experience with management of design contracts and design
reviews.
+ Experience with management of construction and commissioning of
SCIFs.
+ Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Project
+ Ability to utilize Microsoft Office software applications
including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
+ Experience in developing project statements of work and
coordinating with multiple stakeholders
+ Excellent communication and organization skills
+ Knowledge of facilities project management
+ **Must have an Active DoD Secret or Top Secret/SSBI clearance or
SCI access.**
**_These qualifications would be nice to have:_**
+ Experience with 3D design / 2D drawing CAD
+ Experience with the design and construction of cleanrooms
+ Experience with the design and construction of classified
facilities
+ Experience with fire and security alarms and systems and remote
monitoring
+ Experience with energy management systems
+ Experience with electrical systems and high-voltage
electricity/substations
+ Experience with reliability engineering
+ Construction management experience
+ Familiar with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- **The preferred candidate will have, and be able to maintain, at
least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security
clearances: Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background
investigation date within 5 years OR SCI access with a Single Scope
Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years OR Dept of
Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation
(SSBI) completed within 5 years**

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule
allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday
to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00Salary Range 2: $117,700.00 -
$176,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
