possible.Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, is
looking for you to join our team as a Manager Engineering 3 for our
Space Manufacturing & Engineering (SM&E) directorate to support
satellite programs in Redondo Beach, CA.This department manager
position is responsible for managing a team of engineers and/or
technicians in support of space manufacturing. Position requires
intimate knowledge of satellite sub assembly manufacturing, lean
concepts, digital transformation and production metrics suites to
manage day to day production. In addition, project management
techniques, planning and process tool sets, functional management
of large teams is desired. Position requires cross function
collaboration to support significant program demands. Responsible
deliveries include: Cost, schedule and quality commitments,
staffing, affordability strategy and execution. Team support from
proposal phase through initial concepts, development, engineering
models and flight product delivery.Responsibilities Include:Leading
high profile teams that enable new solutions and resolve issues for
low volume high complexity space and air products.Collaborating
with program to develop effective strategies to maintain cost and
schedule, mentoring, and developing mentoring relationships,
assessing and developing a comprehensive staffing and training
strategy to support multiple programs concurrently.Managing a
function within the larger organizational unit, setting & operating
to objectives& providing guidance to subordinates based on goals,
objectives & company policyCoordinate workload in all manufacturing
facilities to deliver value and ensure schedules of customer base
are met.Work with manufacturing and process suppliers to improve
manufacturing processes and ensure successful delivery of
hardware.Promoting the Space Systems vision and principles in their
area of responsibilityBuilding a culture that empowers and
motivates team performance, establishing functional shared
accountability with the programs and new business pursuitsWorking
closely with the other Department Managers, Fellows and section
managers to define and implement the department strategyStaffing
critical skills and developing retention strategiesLabor Resource
and Planning (LRAP)Setting goals and providing performance
feedbackOverseeing leadership development and knowledge retention
effortsManaging indirect and capital projects and budgetsImproving
and enforcing processes and product early development
engagementPromoting metrics-based management across the
organization and Digital TransformationLeading affordability
initiatives and reviewing and supporting proposals and program
milestones presentationsCandidate should be technically diverse in
multiple disciplines of manufacturing and assembly. Develop and
manage process improvement in advanced manufacturing and digital
transformation initiatives to improve performance, reduce cost and

schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through
Thursday to take every other Friday off.Basic
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology,
Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 9 years of
engineering/technical experience OR Master's Degree in Science,
Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 7 years of
engineering/technical experienceProven leadership or supervisory
experience in a manufacturing, operations, manufacturing
engineering or assembly environment.Experience in the Aerospace and
Defense Industry.Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a
DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access.Preferred
Qualifications:Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math) or MBAPrior functional management experience
in a position responsible for staffing, processes and/or
productsBroad understanding of Space Systems programsProficient in
MS Office toolsProven strong communications and leadership skills
in a team environmentActive Top Secret clearance or SCI security
access.Salary Range: $160,200 USD $240,400 USDEmployees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
