possible.Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD)
has an opening for a Director 2 - AMP Space Vehicle Program Manager
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position
will be located in Redondo Beach, CA., and report directly to the
Advanced Mission Programs Vice President & Program Manager.The
Space Vehicle Project Manager leads all AMP Space Vehicle (SV)
activities, spanning from conceptual design, proposal preparation,
detailed design, manufacturing and test, technical support of
Vehicle integration and test, and technical support of operational
systems. The Space Vehicle Project Manager must be able to drive
execution, strive for operational efficiencies and affordability,
develop talent and build strong teams, lead change, solve complex
technical problems, be agile to evolving customer needs, and drive
growth across the portfolio and enterprise. The Space Vehicle
Project Manager will report directly to the Advanced Mission
Programs Vice President & Program Manager.Responsibilities will
include but are not limited to the following:Establishing and
executing the SV cost, schedule and technical baselines to design,
build, integrate and deliver flight hardware. SV is fully
incorporated into the AMP program management, planning, control,
and metrics processesCost, schedule, and technical management of
all Space Vehicle elements, as well as ensuring technical execution
and process compliance for all Vehicle Engineering disciplines
supporting AMP.Identifying and realizing opportunities to reduce
cost and improve processes to realize current contract and future
affordable systemsSecuring RFPs, preparing proposals, negotiating
and definitizing contractsLeading and managing a project team of
> 500 people across multiple simultaneous program phases
(conceptual design through support to operations)Managing the
production of a wide variety and large quantity of Space Vehicle
mechanical and electrical hardware, firmware and software for
multiple integrated diverse vehicle systemsDirecting the management
of a broad set of Space Vehicle component suppliersMeeting all
security, organizational conflict of interest, export control,
protection of proprietary information, and risk and opportunity
management processesClosely coordinating and collaborating with
stakeholders: AMP Program Office, peer AMP Project Managers, AMP
support organizations (Business Development, Security, HR, IT
Solutions, Legal), Space Systems business units, NG Space
functional area counterparts (Engineering, Global Supply Chain,
etc.), senior level customers, technical advisors, and subject
matter experts, suppliers, and Executives.In order to be successful
in this role, you will require the following key
attributes:Exceptional leadership and teambuilding skillsExcellent
communication skills and ability to effectively interact with the
customer, program management, business unit and supply base
executives and functional managementWilling and able to travel as
requiredBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 10 years of
space hardware project and program management experience5 years
experience in a management roleExperience with flight
hardware/firmware/software integrationExperience with spacecraft
subsystem and/or system level test definition and executionActive
SCI clearance; or Active Top Secret clearance with recent
SSBIPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's in Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math (STEM)Master's degree in an engineering or
technical disciplineProven experience in delivering complex space
vehicle flight hardwareProven ability to lead a high performing
team with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work
environment that attracts, retains, and inspires diverse and
engaged teamsExceptional communication skills (verbal, written,
presentation) across all levels of the organizationSpace craft
activation and operations experienceEarned value management of
complex multi-layer projectsProficient with executive presentations

work schedule, which allows an employee to work a nine-hour day

workSalary Range: $244,900 USD - $367,300 USDEmployees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
