Next Gen Polar (NGP) Space Vehicle Operations (SVO) Lead

Leads the Next Gen Polar Space Vehicle Operations (SVO) team of -28 personnel, comprised of critical program functions including SV functional architecture (includes MBSE), flight SW integration, C&T database development, fault management & autonomy, system safety, and reliability & availability. The SVO Lead will have significant influence on key program milestones in Phase 1 including System PDR and CDR. Errors in decision making, technical solution decisions, or schedule execution could result in critical delays and potential liens to PDR and CDR. The lead is expected to ensure team mentorship and engagement is maintained at a high priority.

The SVO Lead also has full CAM responsibilities including schedule development, earned value reporting, and team staffing. In addition, the SVO Lead is responsible for developing proposal content aligned with their team scope (two major proposals are expected to be executed in 2022 or early 2023; one for the NGP V-2 Phase 1 update).

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering (5+ with a MS STEM degree, 3+ with a PhD STEM degree)

Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years OR Dept of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 years

Proven team leadership experience in program integration, operations, program execution, proposals, or capture efforts - to meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Active SCI clearance.

Proven record of action plans to improve organization performance

Ability to quickly develop working knowledge across diverse technical areas

Experience with new business development, including proposal development and capture management

Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task

Demonstrated ability to create inclusive teams with engaged team members and lead through influence

Demonstrated ability to partner across organizational boundaries (i.e., cross-Sector, cross-site, cross-discipline, cross-function, cross-program) as part of a top performing team

Demonstrated ability to work across organizational layers, from individual contributor through Executive Leadership

Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
