The SSSD Electronics & Payloads (E&P) engineering directorate and Next Gen Polar (NGP) program are sourcing a Manager 3 Mission Payload Deputy IPT Lead to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will split time (approximately 50/50) between Northrop Grumman sites in Redondo Beach, CA and Azusa, CA. The NGP Mission Payload SSSD Deputy IPT Lead will be a member of Azusa's IPT management team and represent the Payload IPT at Space Park program execution meetings. The position will report functionally within Space Park and programmatically to the Payload IPT Manager in Azusa.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Essential Functions:

Manage interactions between the Space Park program team and Azusa payload team to build strong cross-IPT and cross-division partnerships
Represent the Payload IPT at Space Park program execution meetings (ERB, ROMB, CCB, Liens, etc)
Become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems
Develop and track key measures of success, and implement corrective actions where needed
Lead engagement with Payload Aerospace and USG counterparts
Manage Payload Space Park to Azusa programmatic logistics including IWO revisions, SOW/DID updates, and proposal integration
Manage oversight of Azusa to Space Park IWOs, including cost, schedule, quality, and baseline control

Basic Qualifications

B.S. in STEM discipline from an ABET accredited university with nine (9) years of engineering professional experience; OR M.S degree in STEM discipline from an ABET accredited university with seven (7) years of engineering professional experience; OR PhD in STEM technical discipline from an ABET accredited university with four (4) years of engineering professional experience
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in project or program management involving electronics hardware
Experience with SSSD (Space Park) processes
Experience with Earned Value Management System practices
Experience with subcontract management or intra-company work order (IWO) management
Active U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level

Preferred Qualifications

Nine (9) years of experience in project or program management involving electronics hardware
Familiarity with infrared sensor products
Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) across all levels of the organization
Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries to create an inclusive and collaborative work environment
Active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years, OR an active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years, OR a Department of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years

Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
