    Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 3 to lead the Mechanical Product Assurance team located in Redondo Beach, CA. The manager should be knowledgeable of quality processes and methods in a Production environment.The Mission Assurance Manager 3 leads strategic planning and performance oversight for Quality Engineering, product inspection, precision inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality support for factory operations. Identify, hire, and manage talents to ensure programs are adequately staffed. This manager also oversees a team of first line managers and reports to the Product Assurance Director.The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading product assurance activities in a production environment and the ability to lead both managers and individual contributors. The candidate will be expected to drive quality metrics throughout production leveraging data and their experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to drive continuous improvement. The candidate will be required to have strong collaboration skills and demonstrated capability to partner cross-discipline/cross-function. The ability to develop and present plans for the acquisition and application of digital inspection technology is also desired.Roles and responsibilities:
    • Identify, hire, and manage quality engineering talents to ensure programs are adequately staffed.
    • Directly manage the mechanical quality engineering team and work with first line managers to oversee mechanical inspection performance and staffing.
    • Assures quality compliance in accordance with company, sector and division requirements.
    • Engages on the shop floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring facility personnel in quality methods and procedures
    • Maintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications, and customer requirements
    • Leverages metrics, customer, and employee feedback to assess performance and risks, and determine resources to achieve high levels of performance
    • Promotes the professional development of the Product Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement
    • Provides performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reports

      • This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Basic Qualifications:
        • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing people or program.
        • Bachelor of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 9 years of engineering experience OR Master of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 7 years of engineering experience.
        • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI access. Preferred Qualifications:
          • Excellent oral and written communication, data analysis and problem solving skills
          • Experience leading teams and/or projects
          • Extensive prior work experience in the application of quality principles and practices (e.g., inspection, material review, etc.) supporting the manufacture and test of complex assemblies
          • Experience in engaging on the shop floor to provide solutions and coach and mentor others in the use of quality principles and practices
          • Understanding and experience of quality processes related to in process/final inspection and NDT.
          • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
          • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated technical issues. Salary Range: $155,400 USD - $233,200 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
