Join the Space revolution and make the impossible, possible. Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Director 1, Systems Engineering IPT LEAD to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. The Wahoo Program is a high priority, Space Segment program to rapidly field numerous satellites for a restricted customer. The Wahoo program leverages capabilities across numerous NG sites and is valued at -$3B over the next 8 years. The Wahoo Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) IPT Lead will be responsible for Systems Engineering across the Space Segment. Responsible functions within the scope of the SE&I IPT Lead will include Mission Engineering, Requirements & Verification, MBSE Implementation, Cyber and Software Integration, Environmental Definition, Launch Systems Integration, Mission Operations, Specialty Engineering and System Test. The SE&I Lead will lead pre-contract investment activities culminating in an internal System Requirements Review mid-2021. The SE&I IPT Lead will be responsible for cost and schedule estimating and management, as well as active management of systems engineering risks & opportunities. The SE&I IPT Lead will be responsible for working across the numerous NG sites to establish and maintain a collaborative, working relationship. Importantly, the SE&I IPT Lead will develop and maintain tailored systems engineering processes that integrates existing processes across sites. This position reports programmatically into the Wahoo Program Manager and functionally into the System Engineering Director. Northrop Grumman offers a competitive and robust benefits program. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (STEM) discipline; minimum 5 years of prior management experience; 10 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry
Proven technical management experience in Systems Engineering
Previous IPT, SEIT Lead or Program Management experience
Active Top Secret and/or SCI clearance with an ability to obtain a SAP clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering or Science
Proven ability to lead and influence a high performance team and possess exceptional communication skills across all levels of the organization and customers
Earned value management of complex multi-layer projects
Proficient executive presentation communication skills
Subcontract management experience
Experience working across NG sites
Experience developing/tailoring processes for reduced mission class programs
