DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for
a Principal Engineer Structural to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals in the Aircraft Loads Section. This position
will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. As an engineer supporting the
Aircraft Loads section, the selected candidate will support the
analysis needs of unclassified and classified programs in Redondo
Beach, California. This position will support a variety of programs
performing analysis and integration activities. Candidate will
collaborate cross-discipline to define and perform study areas for
analysis.Essential Functions:o Provide external aircraft loads
analysis (flight, ground, fatigue, miscellaneous) to programso
Perform subsonic and supersonic aircraft loads analysiso Interact
with internal customers, assisting in defining system requirements,
defining study areas, and providing status on current programs and
technologyo Develop and present materials for internal program
related briefingso Support new business generation and prepare
proposal materialo Strong verbal and communication skills to
interact with key cross-discipline stakeholders to achieve program
objectives in a timely mannero Apply and contribute to the
development of advanced technical principles, theories, and
concepts.o Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide
solutions which are highly innovativeo Work under consultative
direction toward predetermined long-range goals and
objectives.Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer:o
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree inSTEM with 3 years of related
engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 0years of related
engineering experience.o Ability and willingness to travel 10% of
the time.o A current active in-scope U.S. Government (DoD)
Department of Defense issued Secret or higher security clearance is
required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain Special
Program Access (SAP/PAR).Preferred Qualifications:o Three plus (3+)
years of experience in Aircraft Loads and Flight Sciences
engineering disciplines.o Experience in external aircraft loads
analysis flight, ground, fatigue, and miscellaneous loadso
Experience in Aircraft Loads processes and products throughout the
program life cycle.o Experience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, Zonair, Zaero,
Matlabo Understanding of Systems Engineering Principles and Model
Based Systems Engineering tools (MBSE) with a practical focus for
relevant use cases in propulsion integration.o A current active
in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance with current or
previous Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).Basic Qualifications for
a Senior Principal Engineer:o Bachelor's degree in a STEM
discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 9 years
of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree inSTEM with
7 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with
4years of related engineering experience.o Experience in external
loads analysis flight, ground, fatigue, and miscellaneous loadso
Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time.o A current
active in-scope U.S. Government (DoD) Department of Defense issued
Secret or higher security clearance is required to start with the
ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
(SAP/PAR).Preferred Qualifications:o Seven plus (7+) years of
experience in Aircraft Loads and Flight Sciences engineering
disciplines.o Experience in technical leadership and guidance to
Aircraft Loads discipline areas.o Experience in Aircraft Loads
processes and products throughout the program life cycle.o
Demonstrated ability to lead an engineering or cross-functional
team.o Experience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, Zonair, Zaero, Matlabo
Understanding of Systems Engineering Principles and Model Based
Systems Engineering tools (MBSE) with a practical focus for
relevant use cases in propulsion integration.o A current active
in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance with current or
previous Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).Salary Range: $104,600
USD $157,000 USDSalary Range 2: $129,700 USD $194,500 USDEmployees
may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
