opening for an Associate Material Process Engineer OR Material
Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach,
California.The Material Process Engineer will be part of the
Composite and Non-Metallic Materials Engineering Team and is
responsible for providing Materials and Processes support to
aerospace hardware production, developing materials, processes,
engineering specifications, and performing material evaluations and
failure analyses. The successful candidate will collaborate with
design engineering, manufacturing, QA, and customers to help
deliver high quality, precision aerospace products. Our Materials
Engineer will also investigate opportunities for improving existing
materials, processes, equipment, adherence to specifications, and
technology for attaining cost reduction and continuous improvement
goals.The candidate shall also analyze, research, design and
develop materials and their related fabrication and application
processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering
design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to
develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and
processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
Develop, analyze and apply material properties and design
allowables, processing processes and quality engineering
specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of
components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and
definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve
subcontractor material processing procedures.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Develop and optimize materials for use in
engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and
subsystems. Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material
behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material
and processing specifications and fabrication and assembly
processes. Develop, analyze and apply material properties and
design allowables, engineering processes and quality engineering
specifications. Material analysis and failure analysis of
components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and
definition of requirements and specifications. Investigate
opportunities for improving existing materials, processes,
equipment, and technology. Provide hands-on support to production
operations to implement cost reduction and productivity improvement
projects. Support prototype trials, materials analysis and

Associate Materials and Process Engineer (Level 1):Bachelor's
Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
plus 0 years of engineering experienceFamiliarity with Materials
and Process in Composite and Non-Metallic Materials, Special
Processes Experience (including composite fabrication and test,
coatings, structural bonding, NDT) or Analytical Analysis
Experience (SEM/EDX, FTIR)Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top
Secret Clearance.Basic Qualifications for Materials and Process
Engineer (Level 2):Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology,

$63,800 USD $95,800 USDSalary Range 2: $77,100 USD $115,700
USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
