Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Deputy-Chief Architect/
Engineer Digital Transformation to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo
Beach, CA.As a Deputy-Chief Architect / Engineer for Strategic
Space Systems Digital Transformation, you provide strategic
architecture and technical baseline leadership to project leads and
our programs on large and complex digital transformation, product
lifecycle systems integration projects for spacecraft and space
electronics product development. You must understand the business
imperatives tied to these strategic projects. You provide
technology leadership and are the technical expert on strategic
projects, drive the release strategy and guide the delivery of
strategic projects aligned to business strategy on innovative model
based everything (systems engineering, design, analysis, data
management, procurement, manufacturing, integration, & test) and
Dev* Ops. Youmaintain awareness of dependencies between enterprise,
sector, and division projects and their delivery vision, while
ensuring engineering excellence. You build the strategy for digital
transformation teams to architect, design and deliver the next
generation product development lifecycle for space.Essential
Functions:Develop and maintain a roadmap for digital program
initiatives (Model Based System Engineering, Model Based Design,
Dev*Ops, Industry 4.0, Model Based Manufacturing), consistent with
SSSD's strategy, and in collaboration with functions, programs and
BU'sDesign, develops, and maintains system architectures and the
technical baseline for cross team / cross product development
projects developing the digital thread through the Space product
development lifecycleDefines key capabilities and performance
requirements for a digital thread through the product development
lifecycle.Define design and technology maturity constraints of the
system based on specifications.Develop thorough definition of
system external interfaces.Define system implementation approaches
and operational concepts.Ensure requirements are met and evaluates
performance with SSSD leadership.Align SSSD specific performance
management metrics across business units and programs to understand
progress against digital efforts and manage monthly readout
sessionsLead transformational change across SSSD functions,
business units, and programs to a digitally connected product
development lifecycleBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in STEM
with 14 years of experience in engineering and/or operations;
Master's Degree in STEMwith 12 years of experience in in
engineering and/or operations; PhD in STEM with 9 years with of
experience in in engineering and/or operationsDemonstrable
experience with PLM (Product Life Cycle Management)
systemsExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate
with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to obtain and
maintain a Secret and SCI security clearancePreferred
Qualifications:Experience with interfacing with engineering and
operations tools to support a digital thread through the product
development lifecycle (i.E.: Cameo, DOORs, STK, Mentor Expedition,
Cadence, Atlassian, Catia, CREO, Enovia, Windchill, 3Dx,
Teamcenter, SAP, Solumina, Eyelit)Demonstrated experience in
developing and executing comprehensive change management
planExperience collaborating across organizational boundaries to
understand best practices or to share learnings from local
initiativesProven knowledge of successful design, architecture, and
developmentExperience in model-based product developmentActive Top
Secret and SCI security clearanceSalary Range: $149,000 USD
$223,400 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
