Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening
for a Manager Engineering 2 - Macro-Electronics to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in
Manhattan Beach, CA.
The selected candidate will manage engineers within the
Macro-electronics Section of the Parts, Materials, and Processes
(PM&P) Department.

The Macro-electronics M&P Engineering section oversees the
Parts, Materials and Processes used in the design, manufacture and
test of electronic hardware for space and military applications.
Hardware ranges from the piece/part and bare Printed Wiring Board
(PWB), to Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and slice level assembly,
through unit and subsystem level configuration. Other support areas
include component failure analysis, development of critical item
controls and non-destructive analysis of electrical components. The
team includes Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Prohibited
Materials, PWB technology and Electronics Manufacturing.
The Section Manager will report to the PM&P engineering
Department Manager. The Section Manager balances program technical
demands for a majority of their time with people management. Most
of their time, the Section Manager performs as an independent
contributor and supports programs by providing engineering support
during proposal, design, qualification, manufacturing, integration,
test fielding of payloads and spacecraft.
The balance of their time, the Section manager is focused on
leadership including people management (direction & coaching),
program/project reviews, coordination of job assignments, staffing,
recruiting, developing IRAD and process improvement plans, lab
operations, as well as developing capital and equipment plans.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule
allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday
to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 5 years of engineering
experience OR Masters of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math) discipline plus 3 years of engineering
experience.
Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.
Experience supporting production or integration and test (I&T)
activities
Demonstrated knowledge in parts, materials and process selection,
manufacturing support, failure analysis, and processing of
materials for space hardware
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
OR SCI access
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters' Degree in a STEM field
Strong background in EEE parts, materials, processes, radiation,
chemistry
Prior budget responsibility is desired
Possesses strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and
written communication skills
Background in one or more of the following technical disciplines:
Macro-Electronics
Familiarity with materials and processes of spacecraft
structures
Active, in-scope DoD Top Secret and/or SCI clearance
Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
