    Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Engineer Mission Assurance to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be for full time support and is located in Redondo Beach, CA.The successful candidate will be a member of the Product Quality organization. The candidate must have the ability to manage large Subcontracts with all associated Program Mission Assurance management responsibilities as well as manage a large number of small to medium sized subcontractors. The appropriate candidate will have Management or Supervision expertise and Manufacturing, Integration & Test and Subcontracts experience.Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
    • A Subcontracts Mission Manager ( is responsible for management of very large subcontracts as well as several small to medium subcontracts.
    • Perform/manage the following tasks: Documentation, review and approvals of nonconformance's, Failure Review Board and Material Review Board activities, including root cause and corrective action verification; Design reviews - PDR, CDR; Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Pre-Ship Readiness Reviews; Hardware safety assurance; and test troubleshooting activities.
    • Perform compliance audits of Subcontractors Quality Systems for deficiency identification and correction, as well as ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
    • Must be able to verify Mission Assurance requirements, determine Subcontracts Mission Assurance resource needs, provide authorization to proceed as appropriate, and understand the Subcontracts Mission Assurance system well enough to be able to determine acceptable Subcontractor Mission Assurance system implementation.
    • Interaction with all levels of employees including: NGAS Program Mission Assurance Managers, Program Subcontract Managers/Acquisition Managers, Integrated Project Team leads, and representatives from Reliability, PM&P, Configuration Management, System Safety, and Software Quality.
    • Interface is also required with Customer representatives, and the following Subcontractor representatives: Program Managers, Mission Assurance Managers, Responsible Design Engineers and Integrated Project Team leads.
    • Strong communication skills are required.
    • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
    • Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, program leads and integration/test engineers.Basic Qualifications:
      • 9+ Years with Bachelor's in Science; or 7+ Years with Masters; or 4+ Years with PhD.
      • Mission Assurance or Quality Assurance experience
      • Experience with one or more of the following: Manufacturing Quality, Parts Materials & Processes, Reliability, or Program Mission Assurance.
      • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access.Preferred Qualifications:
        • Significant travel and an active SSBI/SCI Clearance
        • Certification in lean and six sigma Quality Engineering MethodologiesLosAngelesSpace Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
