The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the design
of air vehicles with practical experience in the development of new
vehicle concepts, including experience/knowledge relating to
conceptual vehicle layout/design, air vehicle integration,
parametric modeling for Multi-Disciplinary Optimization, and
surface design / loft. To be successful, the selected individual
must also have a solid grasp of basics concepts within the fields
of aerodynamics, aircraft performance and sizing, propulsion, CFD,
structural design, and mass properties analysis. In addition, the
selected individual will possess senior level knowledge of the air
vehicle maturation process (from concept design through flight
test) and embrace knowledge transfer by working with junior
engineers to mature their technical skills.
--- Lead Configuration Design and Integration teams through the
development and design of multiple advanced air vehicles concepts
while supporting his/her own statement of work in parallel.
--- Develop parametric CAD models in support of conceptual vehicle
sizing studies for advanced Unmanned Air Vehicles
--- Lead vehicle design trade study tasks in conjunction with
multiple team members working to solve complex vehicle design
--- Participate in knowledge transfer and training for junior
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work

Basic Qualifications for a Staff Engineer:
--- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 14
years of STEM related engineering experience, or a Master's Degree
in a STEM discipline and 12 years of experience or STEM PhD with 9
years of experience.
--- 10 years of experience supporting the design and modeling of
advanced air vehicle concepts
--- Demonstrated proficiency with an industry standard design tool
such as Siemens NX, CATIA V5, or ProE CAD.
--- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office with good technical
writing skills and the ability to communicate and present technical
material to various stakeholders.
--- A current active in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or
higher, with the ability to obtain Special Program Access
--- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace
--- 12 years of experience in Configuration Design of advanced air
vehicles, including Low Observable aircraft.
--- Conceptual vehicle design experience across subsonic,
supersonic, and hypersonic flight regimes
--- Knowledge relating to design principles used on Low Observable
--- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability
to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
