Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher
of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the
Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity seeks
a dedicated educator specializing in teaching students who are
visually impaired, serving grades K-12 across multiple school
sites. This full-time, contract position offers a Monday through
Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week in a supportive
educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized
instruction tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired
students spanning elementary through high school levels (Grades
K-5, 6-8, and 9-12). Develop, adapt, and implement Individualized
Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents,
and support staff. Utilize assistive technologies and specialized
teaching methods to enhance learning and independence. Conduct
assessments and track progress to inform instruction and
communicate student growth. Serve as an itinerant teacher,
traveling between schools within the district to provide consistent
support and expertise. Advocate for student needs and promote
inclusion within general education settings. Preferred
Qualifications: Certification in visual impairment instruction or
relevant special education credential. Experience working with
students who have visual impairments across multiple grade levels.
Strong knowledge of braille, orientation and mobility techniques,
and assistive technology. Ability to collaborate effectively with
educators, families, and related service providers. Flexibility and
willingness to travel between school sites within the district.
